Hyvin menee!

Kiirettä pitää ja kotimatka alkaa lähenemään, mutta vielä muutama päivä aikaa nauttia! Nyt jo ikävä tätä paikkaa!

Back in da city!!

Mikään matka ei voi mennä ilman ongelmia. Mulla mutka matkaan tuli Washington DC:ssä sunnuntaina, joten päätin heti maanantaina ottaa ekan bussin takaisin NYCiin, sillä halusin takasin "ihmisten ilmoille" ja kavereiden luokse! :) Reissun oli tarkoitus jatkua vieläkin enemmän etelään, mutta en voisi olla tyytyväisempi päätökseeni tulla takaisin NYCiin! Täällä vietän vielä viikon ennen kuin tulen takaisin Suomeen. Nyt täytyy alkaa suunnittelemaan vikaa viikkoa, ohjelmassa on ainakin LMFAOn keikka Central Parkissa perjantaina!! :)

Doing some laundry with the girls (my first time in a laundry place..) ;)

There's not trip without small problems. I got the bumps on the road in DC on Sunday, so I decided to head back to the city where I have all my friends. I was supposed to go even more south, but I couldn't be happier with my choice to come back to NYC! I will be spending one week here before going back to Finland.. :) 

Now, got to start planning this week. I know that there's LMFAO playing in Central Park on Friday, def gonna go see that!! :)

Washington DC

Perjantaina jätin Manhattanilla hengailun sekä tukikohtani Jersey Cityn ja lähdin Washington DC:tä kohti viikonlopuksi. Matka Megabussilla kesti semmonen viisi tuntia ja oli halpaa kuin saippua. Pääsin upeasti bussin toiseen kerrokseen ikkunapaikalle ja Wifikin toimi matkalla, joten kaikki rullasi kuin unelma!

DC olikin paljon pienempi paikka kuin olin aluksi ajatellut ja siellä oli todella helppo matkustaa metrolla ympäriinsä. Mulla oli hotelli tosi hyvällä paikalla Dupont Circlessä, josta käveli nopsasti yöelämän keskukseen Adams Morganiin (katu, joka illan tullen täyttyi juhlijoista).

Tapasin todella randomisti yhden perulaisen matkailijan Lilin, joka asuu New Jerseyssä, mutta oli DC:ssä viikonloppumatkalla. Hänen kanssaan päätin pyöriä ympäri kaupunkia ja meillä olikin tosi hauskaa! Taas tuli todettua, että on tämä maailma vain pieni, sillä Lilillä ja minulla on yksi yhteinen kaveri, vaikka tulemmekin ihan eri piireistä toisilta puolilta maailmaa. Mikä sattuma!

Stella is my new favorite beer!

I left Manhattan and Jersey City on Friday and headed to Washington DC for the weekend. The trip with Megabus was a success; easy and cheap. DC was a lot smaller place than I had thought and it was very easy to move around with the subway. My hotel was in Dupont Circle (good location!), just a few blocks away from Adams Morgan (a place where everyone goes in the evening!)

Very randomly I met a girl from Peru who's living in New Jersey but came to DC for the weekend also. We explored the city together and had a really nice time! Once again we realized that this is a small world; she comes from Peru, I'm from Finland and we still have one mutual friend. What a coincidence!

NJ - NYC - DC

Tää kulunut viikko on ollut mielenkiintoinen. Alkuviikostahan oli Jersey Shorella parissa eri kaupungissa, joka oli aivan upeaa ja mulla oli ihan mahtavaa seuraa! (Ei näkynyt Snookia! haha!) Tiistaina oli pakko tehdä nopeita suunnitelman muutoksia, joten otin yhteyttä viime viikolla tutustumaani kundiin ja se majoitti mut erittäin lyhyellä varoitusajalla Jersey Cityssä. Tähän väliin voi sanoa, että se on poliisina NYCissä ja mä oon ihan sulaa vahaa hahahah. 

Tää poliisi, Mike, on harmittavan paljon duunissa, joten mä otin päivisin bussin Manhattanille (matka kestää n.30min) ja tapasin parina päivänä kaveriani Lauraa. Oli kyllä hauska törmätä johonkin suomalaiseen täällä ja päästä höpöttämään tällä omalla salakielellä :D Me käytiin parin päivän aikana Lauran kanssa mm. Times Squarella, Ground Zerossa (jossa mä olin ehkä hetken aika tunteellisena..) ja Central Parkissa.

Täytyy vielä laitella lisää kuvia tästä viikosta, mutta nyt menen tutustumaan Washington DC:n elämään! Tulin tänne eilen bussilla.. :)

This week has been very interesting. I started this week in Jersey Shore in 2 different cities, that was amazing and I had some really nice company over there! (I didn't see Snooki though..haha!) Tuesday I had to make changes to my plans and I contacted one guy that I had met last week in NYC and he hosted me at his place with a really short notice. Now, I got to say that he's a cop in NYC and I'm getting weak knees hahahah!!

This cop, Mike, is working a lot so I often took the bus to Manhattan (takes like 30mins) and met my friend Laura who also happened to be in NY. We discovered different places together such as Times Square, Ground Zero (where I got emotional..) and Central Park.

I still need to add some more photos but now I'm gonna go walk around Washington DC! I just got here yesterday... :)

I love New Jersey

Hamptons viikonlopun jälkeen otin junan New Jerseyyn Jaredin luokse, jossa yövyimme maailman söpöimmässä shore-housessa! Mulla oli tosi kivaa kun aurinko paistoi ja vihdoin pääsi rannalle! Olin niin wannabe-paikallinen, sillä Jared lainasi minulle pyöräänsä ja olisitte nähteet kuinka coolina mä pyöräilin rantaviivaa pitkin sen juostessa rinnalla haha!

Mun piti olla Jersey Shorella pidemmänkin aikaa, mutta lähipiirissä sattui eräs onnettomuus, joten mä päätin jatkaa matkaani. Jared heitti mut tiistaina Jersey Cityyn, jossa olen tällä hetkelläkin :) Joka tapauksessa vietetyt 24h New Jerseyn rannikolla olivat aivan upeat! Syötiin, juotiin ja pyörittiin ympäriinsä. Ah, loma...

After the weekend in Hamptons I took a train to New Jersey to see my friend Jared. There we stayed at the cutest shore house, I had a really nice time there! I was so wannabe-local with the bike that Jared lent me and you should have seen how cool I acted when I was riding along the shore line haha!

I was hoping to stay there a little longer but an accident happened to one person, so I decided to move on. Jared drove me to Jersey City and that's where I am at the moment :) Anyways, the 24h that I spent in Jersey Shore were AMAZING! We ate, drank and wandered around.... ah, holiday! Thanks Jared!

Viikonloppu Hamptonsissa

Lauantaina jätin Manhattanin taakseni ja suuntasin vähän rauhallisempiin maisemiin Hamptonsiin pariksi päiväksi. Oli kyllä rentouttavaa päästä isosta kaupungista ulos ihaniin maisemiin. Lauantaina olin rannalla kaverini Seanin kanssa, joka myöskin majoitti minut näiksi pariksi yöksi. Illalla mentiin Pulse-lehden VIP-bileisiin Montauk Yacht Clubille, se oli aika uskomatonta!

I left Manhattan on Saturday and headed to Hamptons for the weekend. It was relaxing to get out of the city. I spent the Saturday afternoon with my friend Sean hanging out on the beach, then in the evening he took me to Pulse Magazine VIP-party at the Montauk Yacht Club, that was pretty amazing!

Ensimmäinen viikko reissusta alkaa olemaan kasassa ja mäkin olen siirtynyt NYCistä eteenpäin. Tämä viikonloppu vietetään Hamptonsissa, josta matka jatkuu maanantaina New Jerseyyn. Paljon kivoja juttuja tapahtui ekan viikon aikana. Enimmäkseen tuli pyörittyä etelä-Manhattanilla, varsinkin Sohossa, sillä sen alueen pienet kadut ja kivat kaupat oli paljon kivempia kuin 5th Avenuen turistimassa-alueet :)

The first week in NY is over and it's time to move on to another city. This weekend I will be in the Hamptons and moving on to New Jersey on Monday. 

Lots of funny things has happened to me during this week and here's some of the pics. I mostly walked around the south-Manhattan, especially in Soho, because I liked the atmosphere there more than the 5th Avenues crowded touristic places :)

East Side Ink

Kuten olin jo aiemmin lupaillut, niin tänään tuli siis laitettua kauan odotettu uusi tatska! Jee!! Mulle suositeltiin paikkaa nimeltä East Side Ink, eikä turhaan sillä se oli todella siisti (mikä on mulle ihan ykkösjuttu). Satuin saamaan lyhyellä varotusajalla ajan vielä Kristi Wallsilta, mikä oli ihan huippua, sillä mimmin tatskatyyli sopii tosi hyvin yhteen mun kanssa! Kerroin Kristille suurinpiirtein mitä haluan, mutta annoin muuten aika vapaa kädet ja lopputuloksesta tuli mun mielestä paljon parempi kuin edes olin aluksi ajatellut (vaikka voinkin kuvitella tämän tatskan jakavan mielipiteitä aika paljon..)! Pidemmittä puheitta...

So, I went to get a new tattoo today. Chelsea from Ivana Helsinki store recommended me to go to East Side Ink, and I did. That place is very clean and I was lucky to have Kristi Walls to tattoo me, because her style matches perfectly to mine. I told her what I wanted to have, but let her decide the details, it's more fun this way! The result is way more better that I had ever imagined! Thank you Kristi!

Ivana Helsinki NYC

Olen käynyt täällä NYCissä ollessani useasti Ivana Helsinki storessa eri syistä. Eilen esimerkiksi oli Call Me Katin levyjulkkarit, jonne menin kaverini Jaredin kanssa. Tänään taas siellä pyörähtäessäni mulla kävi erittäin hyvä tuuri, sillä satuin katselemaan aivan upeaa kesämekkoa ja huomasin hintalapussa lukevan "sample" ja hintakin tippui sen myötä ihan naurettavan alas. Upeaa!

Henkilökunta on tässä liikkeessä aivan mahtavaa ja olenkin ystävystynyt jo parin tyypin kanssa. He ovat kutsuneet mua niin moniin eri tapahtumiin, että olen ollut ihan otettu. Upea myyjätär, Chelsea, myös suositteli hyvää tatuointipaikkaa, joten huomenna mulla koristelee kättä uusi tatska! Siitä kerronkin sitten myöhemmin... ;)

I've been to Ivana Helsinki NYC Concept Store few times this week for many different reasons. Yesterday for example I attended Call Me Kat record release party with my friend Jared. Also today when I got there I had a nice surprise when I was looking at a nice summer dress and soon realized that it was a sample and the price was extremely low. Great!

The staff in this store is something really amazing! They keep inviting me to nice events, I'm so impressed. A lovely salesperson, Chelsea, recommended me a good tattoo place, so tomorrow I will be getting a new one on my arm! I'll tell you more about this when it's done... ;)

Pieni maailma

Eilinen iltapäivä meni shoppaillessa niinkuin edellisessä tekstissä vähän jo kerroinkin. Paljon kaikkea muutakin mielenkiintoista on kuitenkin kerennyt jo tapahtumaan sunnuntain jälkeen, jopa enemmän kuin Helsingissä koko keväänä. Jostain syystä olen onnistunut randomisti höpöttämään tosi kivojen ihmisten kanssa ja näin ollen sain esimerkiksi kutsun huomisillaksi Sohossa järjestettäviin Call me Katin levyjulkkareihin sekä parin viikon päästä olevaan Midsummer-partyyn Ivana Helsingin liikkeeseen. Siistiä!

Eilen illalla etsittiin Little Italystä Kristinan kanssa kiva ravintola, jossa oli tajuttoman hyvää pastaa. Tyhjä lautanen illallisen päätteeksi kertoi, että kyllä maistui! Kotiin ei kuitenkaan tehnyt mieli mennä ruuan jälkeen, sillä ilta oli vasta nuori, joten käytiin vielä yhillä pikku kuppilassa. Kummastelin sitä, että näinkin iso paikka voi olla hiljainen maanantai-iltana...

Tänään on ollut sateinen päivä, toivottavasti kohta sää paranisi, sillä illalla olisi tarkoitus mennä parin tunnin risteilylle Kristinan synttäreiden kunniaksi! Aamulla käytiin jo japanilaisessa syömässä kymmenen hengen porukalla Kristinan työkavereiden kanssa. Kuinka pieni maailma voikaan olla kun tajusin yhtäkkiä, että yksi heistä on koulukaverini, joka on NYCissä työharjoittelussa! :D

Yesterday I went shopping like I told you earlier. Also lots of other interesting things have already happened to me in NY and I like it. For example yesterday I happened to chat with the right person who invited me to Call me Kat-record release party which is held in Soho tomorrow evening. I also got invited to a Midsummer-party, that's in Ivana Helsinki-store in a few weeks. Awesome!

Today has been rainy, but I hope it stops soon because we're going on a boat in the evening to celebrate Kristina's birthday. We already had lunch today at a Japanese-restaurant with 10 colleagues of her. How small is this world! One of those colleagues happened to be my friend from school who had come to NY to do her trainee! :D
